I think our return to the office in a hybrid environment will be a great balance for our associates, and will allow us to preserve the spirit of collaboration and teamwork that make Sentry a great place to work. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I recognize claims have been variable as we adapt to shifting COVID-19 regulations, but we’ve been actively adding to our claims staff in order to level out workloads. We encourage our associates to regularly communicate with their managers regarding their workload so they can help shift and manage things, where possible. In regards to diversity, please know while our workforce reflects the communities where we’re located, we’re actively identifying new approaches to recruitment and retention. This is a work in progress, but we maintain our commitment to supporting diversity at Sentry. Michele Dufresne – Chief Claims Officer

Horrible Work Culture

Business Outlook

Pros

Decent pay and excellent benefits.

Cons

Bully management culture. Leadership lacks appreciation of and respect for independent agency force. Adverse to risk of any type. Inconsistent underwriting guide that is subject to frequent knee-jerk reactions. Regional hubs are in direct competition with Sentry's direct writers and the playing field is weighted heavily in favor of the direct writers.

While it’s great to know you enjoyed the benefits and pay at Sentry, I’m sorry to hear other aspects of your role weren’t what you expected. Our Regional business unit is growing at a rapid pace which means, sometimes, we have to adapt to quick changes. While our Regional agencies sell the same types of products as our direct writers, premium amounts typically dictate who our insureds will be best served by. I encourage any associates with any questions about how this process is handled to reach out to their managers or directors for more information.
