We’re glad to hear that the work/life balance at Sentry is valued, as it contributes to overall associate well-being and long-term satisfaction. We understand career progression differs for everyone. While many of our associates see career progression within the first year, there are some that experience a more gradual progression as skills develop over time. Growth from within is a key part of our associate experience, and we offer support and resources to help make that happen. Javier Sotelo – Senior Director of Talent

Pros

Further ahead in technology than many competitors Paid time off is average Some benefits are decent Compensation is okay for the area We are seeing a culture shift as younger associates start forcing us to adapt. Current financial outlook is promising Attempting to expand which will create some opportunities There are a few in upper management that genuinely care about their people. Expectations are often set early and are achievable in most cases.

Cons

Very siloed organization, many times areas that depend on each other are not sharing information creating issues. Management has lost touch with what is really going on within their own building, that much is evident in many of the replies here from HR. Additionally the amount of middle management added over the past 5 years is alarming. C level associates are not adapting to the reality of a post Covid world and it appears no one below is willing to even suggest a change When there is opportunity for advancement it moves very slowly. Very difficult to break into roles above supervisor if you are a free thinker. The company dictates your career path. Lose many good people from all areas to other companies offering better pay and more opportunities for growth.

Thank you for your feedback. You’ve touched on a variety of topics, with a primary point of seeking more communication across the company. I agree, communication is key. That’s why we encourage and provide time for regular conversations with supervisors, along with our employee engagement surveys. You’ve listed several items that we’d like to understand better. I encourage you to share your feedback with leadership in your area or with me. Together, we can collaborate on ways to continue to make Sentry a great place to work with a solid future.
