Pros

- Great Dev Tools - Solid communication and leadership structure - Good work / life balance

Cons

- Lack of innovative or interesting initiatives - Lack of salary growth and remote work has lead to purge of top talent during Covid - Overall a risk averse company that doesn't seem interested in becoming a major insurer

I appreciate your feedback and am happy to see the positives you listed. I encourage you to speak with your manager about the initiatives you’re working on and see if there’s a possibility to work on a project that interests you more when there’s an opportunity to do so. As an insurance company, we’re in the business of measuring and managing risk, which means we make decisions carefully. However, this has helped us grow among Fortune 1000 companies. Please continue sharing your feedback with your manager—the more we know, the more we can take into consideration as we look for improvements. Jim Frank – Chief Information Officer

Pros

8% 401k match. Offered remote work for 2 years during pandemic.

Cons

Massive turnover and understaffing. Salary ranges are not competitive. Employees are expected to become jack-of-all-trades with significant workload expectations leading to burnout. Management doesn’t listen to employee concerns. Toxic employees are not held accountable. Good employees are rewarded with more work and being strung along with a carrot on a stick. Promotions are very political and the accompanying raise is small. Not offering full-remote work going forward. No cost of living adjustment due to inflation. On-call support is demanding and unappreciated. They are accustomed to employees staying long-term due to a pension program that they no longer offer.

Thank you for sharing a review with us—current and former associate feedback helps drive our decision making and show areas where we can look to improve. At a department level, I hear your concerns and will look into them further. We want to do what we can to help all associates thrive in their careers. In regards to remote work, we believe face to face interaction helps make us stronger; however, we know there’s a place for remote work as well. That’s why we’re adopting a hybrid model, with both in-office and remote work days. Thanks you again for sharing your feedback. Jim Frank – Chief Information Officer

Pros

Flexible schedule Helpful managers 401(k) match On-site clinic

Cons

Hybrid Work From Home Model instead of permanent WFH, even though we've had a couple very successful years working from home. They built a new building and want people in it. Boasts about huge company surplus, but gives shockingly low "bonuses" to low and mid-level employees. Advertises amenities that normal employees haven't been able to use in more than two years. Golf course on site is only for the 1%. Even at the employee rate, you better harvest a few organs if you want to bring friends and family as guests. Same goes for the new hotel. Had a higher up tell me that donating to United Way is optional, but so is Sentry's choice to keep me employed. Most people donate out of fear or guilt to get extra PTO.

It’s great to hear you love your job and we want to make sure you continue to love your job. I encourage you to share role-specific feedback with your manager and discuss next steps. At a company level, we appreciate your feedback and are taking associate comments into consideration as we make decisions moving forward. Lastly, please know donating to any organization is absolutely optional, and if you feel otherwise, report that to your HR representative. I encourage you to continue sharing your feedback with us moving forward. Javier Sotelo – Senior Director of Talent
