Love Working For Sequoia

Pros

Great place to work from Corporate down. Strong leadership with fantastic and fun people to work with. It's nice to know that our corporate team is so open and available and really listens to their employees. We work hard but we play hard too! We have Fun days during the summer; purpose days where we give back to the community together; exceptional Holiday party where we all fly up north for a wonderful time together. Fantastic training classes to keep us all up on everything new and to keep our teams on top! Can't say enough about the experience of working for Sequoia!

Cons

Benefit pricing k high for employees with families. Discount on apartment not enough. Rent in some areas is very high and even though our salaries are great they are not enough to afford to live where we work. We get great raises but at the same time we get a rent increase that wipes the raise away.

Pros

Sequoia Equities is an amazing company to work for. I have been with them for a few years now and admit I have learned more working with this company than any of the previous management companies I have worked for. I love that Sequoia is very giving to their employees with the Summers of Love and Sequoia Strong and giving gifts to the employees. Internal Growth is something they take great pride in but sometimes it's hard to get promoted. Sequoia is very family oriented. Sequoia is great at giving back to the community, through donations to schools and working with some local organizations.

Cons

I have seen some aspects of favoritism within the company. I believe that those who work in the Bay Area need to be paid more since the cost of living in the Bay Area is extremely outrageous. I think that cost of benefits (health care only) is high, but it does make sense based on the great coverage we have. Prizes at the holiday party are great but it sucks that they are so limited - it would be great it there were better chances for more employees to win by increasing the number of prizes - by doing so maybe lower the value of some of the large prizes. Living on-site with the 20% employee discount in the Bay Area is hard. Lack of Regional Team Building and get to know. I work in the bay area and only know a handful of people. Sequoia was fantastic in connecting with the American Cancer Society, but in the past years it seems that the community outreach and Sequoia Team Purpose has died off.

Pros

A company can say they care about their employees, others show it. Sequoia Equities shows it. The training is wonderful. They make your passions their passions. They provide you time off to volunteer in areas that are important to their employees, and pay you for it. They use cutting edge technology to make sure your job is effective. They are looking for ways to improve and value our feedback. I’ve been with the company for a short time and feel ready to stay long term. They empower their employees to resolve issues and encourage customer satisfaction. This is a great company to work for.

Cons

Although the benefits package is very good, it’s also very costly for a family to be fully insured. I’ve been informed other options will be made available due to the feedback the company has received from their employees. Aside from that, I have not experienced any “Cons”.

Hi there! This is Enrica, Sequoia's Director of Human Resources. Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to complete a review about Sequoia. We are so glad you are enjoying your experience with the Company. We do try our very best to support our team members and continually listen to feedback on how we can continue to improve that experience for our team! You are correct in that we are looking at ways to provide a more cost effective benefits package for our employees. This week, in fact, we are meeting with our benefits broker to see what we can do to support our teams. Again, thank you for your feedback and thank you for joining our family!
