Pros

Well known in the floor covering industry as well as being a part of Berkshire Hathaway. Freedom and independence for self motivated go getters in the sales field.

Cons

Poor management with no sense of direction. To many chiefs with their own agenda trying to direct the sales force. A lot of flip flopping taking place. Management has not given the sales force a raise in the last 6 years, which is fine if you are selling and growing your business. The only down side to growing your business is having your territory cut and given to reps who are struggling.

Pros

Good pay and benefits.Overall I believe this is still a good company. Upper management (board level) has done a great job of navigating through this economy. The company has almost no debt.

Cons

Nepotism: This does not bother me when a person selected for a position of authority is competent and honest. That's just the way the world works. When the person of authority is incompetent and dishonest and no one will help because this person is well connected, it makes life miserable. We have been miserable since our current person of authority was placed in his or her position.

Pros

We get off 30 minutes for a meeting when somebody has a medical, which is pretty often. They think the BBS safety crap really works when nobody gets hurt for a few months and wonder why it doesn't when they increase our workload and people start getting injured. The BBS program basically consists of filling out a little slip of paper every day about some aspect of safety. It doesn't do anything to help prevent accidents.

Cons

They increased our workload by 100% in the last year because the obameconomy is so bad they know they can get away with it. We didn't get a raise last year. When you sign up for a job you're lucky if they even acknowledge your application and you have little chance of getting the job unless you know somebody.
