Pros

Sales managers are allowed to create their own schedules Most computer hardware is provided, the rest is expensable Large numbers of employees stay with the company for several years

Cons

Pay- once a very strong focus within the company- is no longer competitive Health care plan options and 401k are not competitive in the industry Management is very top heavy--- a running joke exists about how many Vice Presidents exist in Georgia

Pros

Company is focused on making a quality product. Great if you benefit from nepotism and/or getting promoted for who you know instead of what you know.

Cons

Nepotism/cronyism/politics run amuck. You better be a "yes" man/woman. Upper managers make decisions strictly based on perceptions and not reality. The truth is viewed as "excuses" with most of the uninformed upper management. Extremely top heavy. The company will cut labor/cost to the bone at the plant (manufacturing) level, but retain and add less effective support staff at the corporate level. Middle/upper management become too involved in the decision making at plant level preventing dept. managers from effectively doing their jobs. Too many masters to serve.

Pros

Training, mobility of career movement, friendly environment, & you will have the opportunity to discuss issues and ideas with the CEO's and upper management, which is great for such a large company, safety is very important, flexible work hours,

Cons

You're are at the bottom of the barrel as far as salary goes when compared against the competitor or other companies in your expertise, it's who you know not what you know, poor development program for moving up the career ladder, Job evaluations are a joke- no reward for contribution to the company, no compensation for higher learning certifications (i.e. P.E., Masters, etc), not very technical jobs, & you will not develope your engineering skills here.
