Pros

Topps time....not much more...pay is decent if youve been with the company for many years.

Cons

New owners...investment company...enough said ..hell bent on adding programs with no additional help to implement such programs. No real investment into employees. ..motto..."just get the job done" with no input on how with no additional labor...poor raises ...with the news that the companys owner just spent 9 billion on Safeway markets...that doesnt sit well with employees...we are busting butt just to stay afloat. Many long time associates that help build this company are leaving in droves because of such dire work conditions.

Pros

-Good benefit package, but took a long time to receive. -Great co-workers, got some of my best friends from this job. -The work by itself is easy, the workload they give you is not. -Sales have improved in the past year, but we still have stocking and staffing issues.

Cons

-I answer phones all day and cannot have water with me. -One person does carriages for their entire shift. Six hours in 100 degree heat or 20 degree cold is not cool. -You go to CUSTOMER SERVICE and wait in line for ten minutes because there is one clerk working. -I actually started refusing to come in early or stay late because nobody knows how to say thank you, never mind give out those coveted 5.00 cards -I laughed reading the reviews that said it was easy to get time off... ha! Not in my store. I requested to be out by four because I needed to be somewhere a considerable distance away and was told to bring a change of clothes to work because I was needed until five. -I was also told I couldn't have any more saturdays off... yet I closed every saturday night for a year straight, and there are numerous people in my store who aren't even available on saturday. Wasn't aware working in retail meant I had to give up seeing my family. -Price cuts... ha! The tags I put up that say "every day low price" have the same price on them as the previous tags. -One cashier working most weekdays until 10am. -Managers who refuse to go on register or help on the customer service window. The priority, I thought, was the customer, not making the schedule. -I never get a break. Asking for one is like pulling teeth. Sorry I inconvenienced you by wanting a bite to eat and to use the bathroom for 15 minutes. -Store policies enforced at random. I refuse a customer refund for management to come over and not only refund their clearly expired product, but give them a customer appeasement for their troubles. IF management comes over, most times I get a phone call and a curt "give them whatever they want".

Pros

Flexible hours, reasonable pay, great group of dedicated, friendly co-workers, quality store management, nice customers, clean work environment, quality products.

Cons

Supervalu refuses to have competitive pricing. Company sales continue to spiral downward. Cutting labor is Supervalu's solution to the problem.
