Pros

Gives back to the employee compensation wise, lots of Headquarter opportunities, benefits, events to support the community. Steady merit increases, no competing for higher salary. Underwriting and People Resource (HR) department is a plus.

Cons

Stone age policies making company less competitive than others in certain aspects and frustrating due to archaic systems. Typical Cookie Cutter Corporate America Hierarchy Issues - Unfortunately, have narcissistic people in higher up positions that manipulate employees to reach goals. Due this it's difficult to make real change. Certain interdepartments issues (Customer Service/Claims) that make you feel like you're just a number. Again, Corporate America.
