Pros

On the surface it appears to be a great company, but scratch below the surface and you will find chaos. If you are a supervisor or manager or executive, then you are treated like royalty. Anything else and it is put up and shut up. Always be happy. No bad days. Kiss up and be phony. Great benefits, if you can keep them. They no longer allow remote work unless you live in an area that sold their building or if you are an adjuster or whatever. Their rules and ways to keep your job are a joke because they do not apply equally across the board.

Cons

They do not not hire older people or those of color very often... Just enough to try to make it seem like they are not biased. Rest assured though, this is a white, male oriented company. The women move up, but must fight 10 times harder than the men. They are currently trying to get rid of the old people by forcing them into retirement or finding ways to fire them before they get their pensions. New hires don't get pensions.

Pros

The people at Shelter are world-class! I have had the opportunity to work with a lot of different people across different departments and they are all fantastic! We have a great culture here, and I love the direction our company is headed. The benefits have always been extremely competitive, and our company has taken great strides to make employee salaries competitive with the market.

Cons

If I had to point to one con, it would have to be that in the past our company has seemed to lag technology wise. However, company leadership has made this a priority and made significant investments toward improvement. Now I am very excited about the direction our company is headed from a tech standpoint.
