Pros

Depends on your agent owner

Cons

Once again, depends upon your agency owner, but typically producers are very under compensated in the captive arena.

Pros

Great benefits. Some remote work (3 days home, 2 in office). Great facilities. Supportive management. Opportunities for growth. Challenging. Fun events. Beautiful Shelter Gardens to enjoy. Whatever you need as far as equipment, they will provide. If you want a career in insurance, it is a good jumping off point.

Cons

You have to work HARD for your pay. The training can be intense. They do reviews at the end of the year and mid-cycle. You also have to take endless amounts of training videos and classes. You will have goals set for you and you must meet them. They continually assign new tasks to you on top of the ones you were initially hired to do. Because the employees work 3 days at home, there is not much room to make friends. It is tedious and mind numbing and yet they want it all perfect. Big burnout rate! High turnover in the department. The company itself is HUGE, so not a lot of personal interaction with other departments. While working remote is great, having to go in for the two days is not. It would be better if they had staff that just worked remotely and then staff that worked in-house, but they are slow to take suggestions. It is a lonely, stressful job. I only gave it three stars because the insurance benefits and other benefits are great.
