      An okay first job but most burn out after couple years and leave

      Pros

      Sheppard Pratt Health System has many opportunities for doctors, and hard (fast) workers can do well financially, but only on inpatient units.

      Cons

      Sheppard Pratt Health System's contracts are unbalanced and do not keep up with health care inflation rates. Outpatient positions pay less well due to the productivity formula.

      Pros

      Easy-job if you just want a job, not a career. Good as a stepping stone, fresh out of H.S. or college. Supposed to be the best in it's field.

      Cons

      An distrustful environment of ladder climbers, back-stabbers and incompetent employees. Many of these "problem makers" have been there for 10-30 years. Lay-offs have been occurring for the past 4-years. Low-salary is understood.

      I am not sure how it is rated as one of the best psychiatric hospitals in the country.

      Pros

      as a per diem you get to make your own schedule and you will see some very interesting things while working there.

      Cons

      You will be poorly compensated for your experience and education. The management expects a high turnover rate of employees so they do little to retain the worthwhile ones that they do have.
