Pros

This organization provides a much-needed service to a population requiring specialty treatment; so, you can feel like to you making a positive contribution to the community. People who continue to work at Sheppard Pratt are committed to the needs of the patients and fellow employees. This large organization can feel like a family.

Cons

Organizaitonal policies are not equally applied across all divisions. Pay raises and advancement are impossible in some administrative areas. Organization does not provide merit pay increases.

Pros

Famous in the fields of psychiatry with a long history of psychiatric treatment. I would say this is the best place to go if you sick (but that's it).

Cons

- stingy in salaries and pay. Rather let a senior employee go elsewhere than increase salary. - incompetent management. - IT department dosen't seem to have the proper knowledge/tools to do their job. - politics seem to be the methods to rise above - no reward system for good work, efforts go unpraised.

Pros

One of the few last psychiatric hosptials you can work at in this country. A place of history going back to the mid 1800's

Cons

Medical insurance plans are quite poor considering this is a medical hospital!!!!! Pay is below average. Management seems to consist of a tightly knitt group of people with their friends/relatives none of which are qualified to perform any type of work let alone management. If you are not in the "club" you will find yourself in a rut and might as well leave.
