Pros

I guess the only advantages are the peaceful setting. Free parking, quiet kind of secluded area. Better and less stressful then a bustling city.

Cons

There is a "unwritten" culture of docs holding power over everything, even management. It gets to the point where they involve themselves in areas they know absolutley nothing about. It's hard if you are support staff, working in the area. Commonly staff members are embarassed, belittled and harassed in front of people (even when they are right). A doc wil over-ride a manager right in the room with you and no one can do anything about it!!!!!!

Seems to contain a lot of staff members that have been there for several decades. Many of them seen people come and go.

Cons

Pay is below average for support staff. There is a general lack of respect by managment. The enviroment seems detached "ivory tower".

Pros

Well recognized name in the area and big network of opportunities with in the system. This makes it easy to move around with in the system if necessary.

Cons

There are some issues with managment as it is somewhat secretive. If you are unaware of complexities of healthcare economics in psychiatry, you may find yourself in a hole. Managment does not help you with that.
