Pros

I was fairly compensated. There is always work to be done, you won’t be bored.

Cons

- CEO offers feedback that is not constructive, uses insults like “just be smarter” in public Slack channels and company-wide meetings. She will tell you she’s just “brash” but eventually you see the comments are just mean. - CMO is unprofessional and gossips about people on her team to her direct reports. Frequently says she “can’t do this anymore” and threatens to quit frequently in 1 on 1 and team meetings. - The marketing team has seen a lot of turnover in the past few months, from firings to people quitting. Many people on the marketing team were there for under a year. - Ongoing projects are frequently derailed due to CEO demands and non-emergencies. - Do not expect mentorship or guidance here

Pros

Talent is recognized. I was taken in for a completely different role in the beginning and was given a chance to accomplish much more. Every step of the way has not been micromanaged, and for the first time in all my years of working I actually feel like i'm trusted. No day ever feels the same, and I am constantly challenged. I am surrounded by very smart individuals and it creates a great competitive environment to match their pace and efficiency. Since it's a smaller company and team, it's nice not being more than a door/message away from a CEO who actually listens. Team is also full of a bunch of unique and funny people! Work life balance is a huge driving factor!

Cons

Sometimes the day can make you a bit scatter brained as it's a smaller company and you are needed to switch gears at a fast pace. It can create some delays and miscommunication, but what fast paced environment doesn't.

Pros

ShipperHQ moves really quickly, and there are tons of new opportunities being created all the time. If you're someone who likes to build their own job function, and define your role, this is a great place for you! We get to work with merchants of all sizes - from single owner/operators up to multi-national Enterprises. And being able to see the real impact we have on each of those businesses is really satisfying.

Cons

If you're looking for an environment where every process is already defined, documented and waiting for you to follow - you're going to have a tough time here. We continue to improve on this, but the reality is we are a fast-moving startup and you need to be able to handle a degree of uncertainty and be adept at self-learning.
