Part of something bigger than myself

Pros

I'm so proud to work for this institution. It was already the leading rehabilitation hospital in the country, but that wasn't good enough. With our new hospital, we're bringing doctors and researchers together, surrounding the patients, in the name of faster recoveries and cures. It's not been done before, is incredibly bold, and will make a lasting impact on patients' lives.

Cons

We've been in the new hospital for a few weeks and it's everything our former hospital was not--bright, plenty of space, inspiring. It's essentially entirely open/hybrid office throughout--in clinical, research and administrative spaces. I like it; the environment feels really collaborative and there are plenty of spaces to get work done. Others might not be as open to this set up.

Pros

Dedicated staff and educational opportunities.

Cons

Upper management does not care about how to improve operations or solve problems. They promise the world and deliver nothing. Upper management needs to be more accountable! They appear to take a lot of time off and make unreasonable demands on 'direct line' staff. Pay is terrible!

Excellent experience for a new grad

Pros

The therapy staff is friendly & motivated to help each other do the best for all patients. It's a great place for a new grad to learn the most current research based methods to treat patients.

Cons

Minimal opportunities for advancement, must work frequent holidays & weekends (poor work/life balance), management does not seem to reward/value experience, minimal pay raises or market adjustments.
