Pros

Great product. It is easy to sell when you appreciate the quality and believe that the price fits. When you are working in a new store it is easy to make great commission with low goals.

Cons

Moving into management is nearly impossible without outside management experience. Loyalty to the company and knowledge of how it works means nothing. Ask for much more than you would expect to be paid to start with because raises are very small. People with no jewelry experience can expect about 13/hr and should ask for more or you will never be paid what you deserve. Don't expect huge commission checks.

Pros

Younger workers will learn basic people skills and most customers are friendly. There is a team spirit at most stores There is a good recognition program in place. And they do tend to promote from within.

Cons

This is RETAIL , The jewelry industry may sound as if it's a great paying job but in reality the pay is very entry level and commissions paid are a variable percentage based not on your own sales but the total sales of your store. Sales traffic can sometimes be very slow so it can get very boring for long periods of time. Pay can vary greatly depending on store location and volume and you must be available to work any day of the week.

Pros

The discount is awesome, generally a fun environment, it really depends on what market you are working with if you really benefit from customer interactions. Everyone has heard of the company and it is often a first stop for what it offers.

Cons

Moving up is nearly impossible I think, very political. Company is not aware we are in a recession and is insisting we sell the same amount of merchandise now as we did 4 years ago.
