Pros
I have been here for about 3 months and I am loving every second of it! There are many great reasons to work for Sikich, but the best one is how much I know the firm values me. This is probably why Sikich has been named many times over as "One of the Best Places to work" in Indiana and Illinois. Sikich provides me with competitive pay and benefits, just like the big guys, AND I get to have my life too. Don't get me wrong, this is public accounting, so there will be long days, but the people you work with make it one heck of a ride. Speaking of which, everyone I've met here has been pretty amazing. Everyone is friendly, inviting, and wants you to be successful.
In a few short months, I've learned a lot about audit, and expanding my thought process. I've seen many different industries and types of clients. When you feel like expanding your skill set further, there is always Sikich University. This is Sikich's renowned learning program, where there are lesson plans to keep you moving forward and developing. Not only is the firm looking ahead of the curve, but it wants to take you with! The firm has a very positive outlook, as well, and I know that this is a firm you can GROW with. Yes, I said that about a public accounting firm!
Oh and for those of us who are taking the CPA while working, this is definitely a firm that encourages it. Days off to study, bonuses for passing, reimbursements, and everything you learn on the job. I've definitely learned enough where I feel really comfortable tackling the CPA.
Cons
I switched over from the pharmaceutical industry, the only con, is the insurance plan is not the greatest. However, talking to friends in other accounting firms, it seems to be what is expected.
