      Showed me how a company can have total disregard for employees and their families

      Cons

      No work / life balance!!!!!! Hostile work environment. Mgmt yells, belittles & just plainly a BULLY!!!! Upper management is even worse! Luckily it's a union plant. Also, stop hiring friends of workers. I know people who would have loved to interview for a couple of open positions, but job never was posted. New hires are friends of current employees.....talk about favoritism!

      Pros

      Pay is high for the type of work. Having a 4 on/4 off work week is nice at a heavy cost of losing half your weekends. Overtime can be plentiful if you don't like your family.

      Cons

      The plant hasn't seen an upgrade in decades. The bus depot of a lunch room is disgusting. Beat up chairs, tables that are never clean, guys snoring at the table next to you, microwaves from 1993. A complete absence of any sort of communication between management and hourly guys. NO training whatsoever. You stick with a guy, told 'do this, do that' without any reasoning then you're set loose. A union contract that is disgraceful to it's members. A bunch of crispy guys you work with who do it their way and will not accept any change. Oh, and I should mention again that the place needs an upgrade for EVERYTHING. Machines are held together by rags and wire. It's a dump, just sticking around to pay the bills.

      Pros

      -Work is very consistent, hours are consistent except during annual budgeting -New knowledge is gained for the first 2 years -Willing to take me with no finance knowledge

      Cons

      -They want you to stay there for 30+ years for your entire career with very slow progression if you're not a part of the old boys club. The salary increases reflect this very slow progression. When I moved from here I got a 30% bump whereas here I got 2% raises every year. -Technology is really old there, and they aren't keeping up with the latest tech (latest Excel, IT infrastructure, data pipelines, etc)
