Pros

Silgan has several locations you can work in if you are willing to live in less than desirable cities.

Cons

Very hostile to workers with families. Plant upper management talk the talk when visitors from headquarters arrive and then ignore company directives after visitors leave. Front office affairs are allowed and it creates very uneasy work environment. No support from upper management. Floor personnel are more informed than Supervisors. Project management is done with cowboy engineering, which end up costing twice as much money.

Worked there 16 yrs as a line mechanic

Good pay. Benefits have been eroded away.

Cons

12hr rotate shift work. They do not hire people as people retire or quit. Forced to work your days off. Forced to work as mechanics fill in for supervisors and create an open spot in mechanic area and force them all because upper management are too good to cover for their own salary people. Too good to work shift works. They are above it.
