Outstanding firm if you are looking to enter strategy consulting

Pros

Amazing culture and life experience. Continuous training and climbing the promotion ladder. The company strongly promotes a positive work environment. Smartest and nicest people I have worked with who are always there to help. As a strategy consultant you are looking for three things - Interesting projects, creating real life impact, and engagement with the C-suite. You will get to experience all three here on a regular basis. Company talks a lot about valuing the entrepreneurial spirit of employees and they actually mean it. You get to participate in business development and overall strategic direction of the firm from very early on.

Cons

None I can think about except for typical consulting stuff such as travelling and long hours time to time.

Pros

The people and the culture at Simon-Kucher are, for the most part, pretty awesome. There are a lot of kind, intelligent people here. The benefits aren't bad either.

Cons

Not a lot of transparency from management/HR. HR especially will tell you one thing one day and something completely different the next. Really makes you wonder what their trying to hide. Support staff frequently is treated as disposable and not worth investing in.

Pros

Benefits are alright. Everyone in central functions was great. Nice office

Cons

Spends money recklessly - even in a difficult economical situation. For a period of time they were having happy hours weekly at nice bars. Free drinks, free food, everything. They fly out every new employee to a mandatory week long orientation covering flights and putting them up in 4 star hotels. Have an annual company wide trip to Europe - covering all costs. Yeah this stuff is all nice but is it really necessary? They’ve had several rounds of layoffs in the past few months yet just hosted a conference with Daymond John from Shark Tank as a guest speaker. Couldn’t have been cheap. According to AAE Speakers talent agency around $50-100k.
