Pros

- Your colleagues. In S-K you will meet high quality people that will make the overall experience worth it - Expertise in pharmaceutical P&MA leading to great exit opportunities - Plenty of opportunities from the beginning to grow in many directions - Rotation program for 6 months in another office

Cons

- Diversity & Inclusion initiatives are very immature and mostly taking place on social media platforms just for show - Very low diversity, even at the consultant base. Some minority applicants rejected in final rounds get later positions at MBB, which points to a failure in recruiting talented individuals - Women drop out at a much faster rate than men. SKP has/has had terrific female consultants, but leadership keeps failing at supporting these women with the tools needed to make it to the top of the ladder - Attrition to the roof putting significant stress on managers and teams. The team experience has suffered terribly due to the high number of consultants leaving the company. The worst part is that the situation is not getting any better and leadership is not doing anything significant to change this trend - Low salaries, which aren't at par with other consulting firms or industry roles S-K consultants go to - Evaluation system lacks transparency. Having advocates at the partnership level matters more than performance merits acknowledged by your team members - Very long hours, but normal for consulting

Pros

Simon-Kucher has been a great experience. The focus on pricing means we are experts in a growing field. We help companies make more money, which is a great skill to have, especially in Silicon Valley, The growth trajectory of the company is exciting to be a part of and beneficial in terms of opportunities. Recent investments in training and PR formalize the commitment I feel from leadership to help me succeed. (After all, it benefits both of us if I publish an article or can grow faster in my project work) Additional perk: Every December the entire company gathers in Germany for the World Meeting and Holiday Party. Many of us travel after with colleagues.

Cons

Our west coast office hasn't always had the same support in terms of recruiting, HR, & PR. However, this is improving. Pay should be increased 15-20%, especially considering the alternative options at tech companies around the bay area. The commute to Mountain View gets old quick.
