Pros

One of the biggest advantage is the ability to work fully remote with distributed work in present times. STS is heavy on professional development for my career in terms of trainings, conference summits (Apprenticeship trainings that pivots into fulltime positions and the AWS Summit Washington, DC 2023) and my overall technical journey. Also the bonus compensation is very rewarding as they recognize my hard work and contribution to help create value for our customer and partners. STS company culture here focuses on collaboration, dedication and innovation with my coworkers for example working tech sessions for any blockers and foster any technical challenges. This strengthens STS values and ethics which curates a great reputation both presently and in the future. STS also has a diverse employee network to enable the professional development of varying identity groups, location zone and setting measurable targets of acquiring diverse talent for adequate representation. The business goals in expanding their contractual work space also benefits myself as I attain the contract related certifications on this Journey. Effective communication is carried out from upper management to every employee, for example adopting Slack, Microsoft Outlook and Teams into our daily routine of communication. This is a huge form of transparency.

My experience at STS has been enlightening. There is a culture of continuous learning has pushed me to be focused on my professional development. I have both been professionally challenged and supported in my role.

Cons

As with any organization, there are opportunities for improvement, mainly, in gaining insights to enhance our work processes and fostering open conversations to encourage collaboration. This would be integral in getting feedback and seeing our weak spots as a company.
