Pros

Nice to work on a product that has a positive impact, salaries are median or slightly above.

Cons

Leadership is rigid and somewhat oblivious. Coworkers are cold and unwelcoming, high school lunchroom political circles and cliques. Hunger Games level of toxicity wherein recently laid off employees are held up as "guess he couldn't cut it" self-serving examples of how standards are so high and how lucky you are to still be there, meanwhile the staff is constantly terrified. Many rigid personalities that are hard to work with.

We appreciate you for taking the time to provide candid feedback. It helps us understand the challenges that may not always be visible to leadership. What you described in your review does not align with our core values. We must continue to proactively, and with intention, do the ongoing work to foster an environment that is inclusive, supportive, and empowering for everyone.

Pros

The people are very kind for the most part. It's a mental health company and it takes that serious. Retention is pretty good and people typically work here a long time in product. Pretty good pay and good WLB.

Cons

I don't know why we can't just hire more engineers. There's always an excuse. We need more and work too slow.

Thank you for the review. We are glad that you've been having a great experience at SimplePractice for four years and counting. Our teammates often say that their colleagues are the best part of the job. We agree! We are also happy to hear that you feel that our values and work-life balance are connected to our customer mission. As a company who serves mental health clinicians, it is important for us to take care of our team members, too. Our company is aligned with you — we do need more engineers. We are currently ramping up engineering hiring and have developed a strategy to rapidly grow that group over the next several months. We hope you feel a positive impact from these efforts very soon.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are happy that you feel fairly compensated for your work and are able to enjoy our benefits. We want our team members to see themselves having a long career at SimplePractice. One of our People & Culture group's primary focuses is to develop career paths by position. This will make it clear to each team member how they can grow their skills, get promoted, make a lateral move, and stay engaged.
