Pros

Loved working with residents. Putting a smile on their faces was absolutely amazing and heartwarming.

Cons

Everyday at 3pm we had meetings about how the person next to you might not be here tomorrow. It wasn't from a stand point of love and appreciate one another it was we are going to fire you. Well 95% of black people were fired. Previously I was touched inappropriately by a coworker and reported it. So because management didn't do anything I went to the police and made a report. I was fell off the company bus and was blamed and was told it was my fault. Basically intimated so I wouldn't file a claim. This place was and I'm sure still is horrible.

Pros

I love the residents, they truly do become family. There are always shifts available, however thats not always positive.

Cons

Short staffed and way too much drama. People are constantly gossiping about co workers and no one ever wants to do their work. No one that works there likes their job and the residents even complain. The AL center I am at probably reels in about 100k a month yet employees get a change raise from $10 at 1 year.. BS

Pros

You have the opportunity to work as many hours as you can handle. The residents become like family. You look foreword to seeing them every day! I'd recommend this job if you're looking to get into nursing or are wanting to get trained in a kitchen.

Cons

Drama between employees, management plays favorites. Company drug tests but a lot of employees smoke pot and other drugs. (I guess that could be a pro for some). Because you do become close with the residents, it's difficult to see incompetent workers still being employed after injuring or not giving proper care to residents. Open 24/7 weekends and holidays. Low hourly wage, lots of responsibility.
