Pros

A reasonable amount of independence and occasional opportunities for creativity. Operations and human resource employees are professional and kind. Facilities are well appointed.

Cons

Upper and middle management are uncommunicative and opaque. Upper managers in New York are at a particularly far remove from DC staff. Company has little sense of mission.

It's Great Until Office Politics

Pros

People there can make your job easy or hard. Pay is more than average. You feel good about yourself taking extreme situation calls. Free sodas

Cons

Lots of office politics, you would need to get in good with somebody above the chain to advance. You will notice cliques around the center. Hours are not flexible despite being a 24hour operation due to frequent turn over rate whether its made with the employee or employer.

So little I wouldn't recommend for a long term place to work. Okay for a stepping stone.

According to SXM handbook "FMLA leave is unpaid leave. However, for all types of FMLA leave, the Company will require, unless applicable law requires otherwise, that employees use any and all accrued paid vacation and any other accrued paid leave which they are eligible to use concurrently with any FMLA leave, including maternity and parental leave as referenced in the policies governing that type of leave. Thus, some portions of an employee’s FMLA leave may in fact be paid through an employee’s use of accrued"
