Pros

Small Office Nice break room Good people . Effort is being made in order to bring benefits into line with that of more established firms

Cons

No project pipeline - Work seems to be literally sold today staffed tomorrow . No insight into the projects that are available especially at the national level Weak people managers No real training only training provided is via train the trainer so going to a partner or a established training institute is not supported by management . No personal development - If you are told that you do not have "Executive presence" needed for a promotion there is no program to develop that presence . If you need skills for a particular job you are expected to learn it on the job with little to no support from management Extremely political there is a schism between the "new people" and "the original people" Good people seem to be marking time waiting for an exit

This is John Tobin. Our Dallas leadership team has already seen this review and they are considering where this feedback might be coming from and perhaps how someone like yourself might not be exposed to all the learning and development we have going on in the company. Considering our strong scores from our employee survey regarding our "People First" approaches, I really hope you raise your hand to your office leadership to provide this feedback. If you would like to talk to me about it, I encourage you to send me an email (johnt@slalom.com) to set up a time to chat. Of course if you have more feedback that you'd like to share anonymously, please complete this short survey at any time: http://slalom.ws/anonsurvey. Thanks.

Pros

Easy working environment, its like a retirement job if your goal is not to work

Cons

majority of their consultants are the ones that could not make it in the Big consulting firms such as Accenture. that means you will work with a lot of unqualified people. there is very very limited career growth.

This is John Tobin. I will tell you, I do not treat Slalom like this is a retirement job, except to say this may be the last job I have before retiring. I'd be interested to hear your specific story and set of experiences - feel free to reach out to me at johnt@slalom.com to set something up so I could understand better what you experienced. Thanks

Pros

Slalom has hired some good employees that care about doing good work, you don't have to travel if you don't want to.

Cons

Too much focus on run rate goals and being "first" to hit targets instead of getting the best people in line for success or implementing the best ideas. Management is *way* to slow in eliminating bad employees. Allowed one to stay on for almost a year even when it was discovered that he was outright lying about business development and expenses. A lot of my ideas that come from experience in building a practice were either dismissed or ignored despite my having a direct line with companies that could bring business to Slalom. Some of the management reverts to big 4 ways despite the "different kind of consulting company" rhetoric. Asked for more responsibility and increased title and was told to just keep doing what I am doing. Never happened.

This is John Tobin. I am proud of how fast and well we have grown in our Houston market and I feel good about the direction we are heading there. I do understand that with every high-growth entity there are some challenges, my hope is that you are open and honest with your feedback to the team and especially Jeff. If you wish to share any specific experiences, feel free to email me to set up a time to chat - johnt@slalom.com. Or if you wish to give more anonymous feedback to our HR team email feedback@slalom.com.
