Pros

I work with great people I feel heard from the management and HR My team is filled with great people who identify with a gender or as gender fluid, who worship a higher power or none, who identify as a person of color or not, who have a partner or spouse of any gender or none. We all have respect for one another as a commonality.

Cons

Covid hit everyone hard with the isolation and distancing - hoping to get back to the office atmosphere and having that group / team feeling again

Pros

Fantastic team members Diverse group of employees Good office location

Cons

I was employed as part of the Customer Experience team at Canary after the acquisition of the company by Smartfrog Services GmbH. Recently, I would estimate that a third of the team was fired or had their contracts not renewed, because they supported an initiative to implement a Works Council within the company, to ensure that employee rights were being upheld. It is known within the company that unpaid promotions are commonplace and could go on for months before contract changes were provided, without financial compensation for the previous months worked. Employees had also been asked to perform tasks that incriminated them in illegal activities. Employees had also mentioned to management that the company had provided almost zero support for home office. Anyone without a stable internet connection was expected to work from the office, even during the height of the pandemic. The response from the company said that we should be grateful as no one was fired during COVID-19. Once the Works Council initiative had been started, the CMO/COO said that the company would have no choice but to move operations to another country. If that doesn't say enough about how much this company wants to repress its workers' rights, I'm not sure what else will be.

Pros

Nice walks outside the office

Cons

what happened here? Ignore the obvious fake chirpy reviews. Take a look at canary app rating on App store. Read the 1-stars. There's no incentive to innovate after competitors overtake canary. So, canary is sold, new management comes to bleed the asset to the ground. Game is now: how many customers can we burn until it starts to effect our bottom line? understand everything is fractal and get ready to play short term games with short term people. You like being paid below market and reminded you're a cost center daily? great this gig for you.
