Pros

Great benefits. Good tech stack. Great people in the team. Good salary. Ability to work in different areas and learn big variety of tools. If you're looking for a challeng Smartsheet is a company for you.

Cons

New engeeneering model was implemented in 2020. Now every one expected to jnow and do everything. E.g. SDE should be able to pick SRE's task. SRE should be able to do Data Engineer work. Data Engineer should be able to do testing as SDET and SDET should be able to work as SDE. A lot of highly skilled engineers left because they don't interested in starting a new careers pass from level zero. Work-life balance. Management expects that you'll work after hours, during sick leave etc. Company tarting implementing stack ranking.

Pros

When I joined Smartsheet I felt SO much pride and appreciation to be a part of such a great company and culture. I had an amazing mentor and manager to guide me along the way, until that person was promoted and I inherited a team member as a new manager. This person was a total rookie at managing a team and was so far out of touch with how to manage and coach effectively. As a result I felt more and more that I was floating on an island without an anchor or link to the backbone of the company. I also was given a territory that was not suited to my experience and sales strengths. After 2 years at the company overacheiving, I asked to be moved to another team for a fresh start. I was denied that opportunity which caused me to feel unheard and unappreciated for the hard work and dedication given over the last 2 years. Being a seasoned salesperson, I understand what good leadership looks like. Being managed by a rookie manager stunted my path to success, and, no one listened to my calls for help. This is the way of a company that grows too fast. In my estimation, Smartsheet has grown too fast and is behind its competition in many ways. People at the company who once were very invested in the long term outlook of Smartsheet are dropping like flies. It is unfortunate as Mark Mader is a CEO that anyone would be proud to get behind. The other leadership has become too big for their britches and is out of touch with the market. I do not recommend joining Smartsheet at this time.

Cons

Leadership is out of touch with the reality of the market and what Smartsheet's limitations are as far as customer support, technology advances and cost of services. Being remote for the last 1 1/2 years has caused much of this disconnect, however, it started prior to the pandemic with some of Smartsheet's management team.
