Pros
- Smart colleagues - Always had something to work on - Decent pay - Manager is really strong IC and manager; felt sorry for this guy having to pick up my s*** after I left. Really great dude; probs respected him the most in the team.
Cons
- Was thrown into an engagement with a "Consulting Manager" acting as EM. This guy overbills on the project, makes duplicative tracking sheets, and power trips his way up to my skip manager. If you really wanted billable utilization, that's quite a petty move, Mr. Cringelord! 😭🐍 - Deceptive in compensation. Was baited to interview for X amount. Ended up offered 0.8 * X. Had to hit 120% billable utilization for some time in order to hit that X amount (had no WLB then). - Work felt extremely repetitive; at some point, it felt like I was just exchanging time for money. - Corporate American culture. Could be a pro to some, but I did not enjoy this aspect of it.
