Raises have not kept pace with inflation. Perhaps related: somewhat high turnover for a company of this size.

Pros

- Fun team, supportive place for growth - Regular critiques and opportunities to connect - Collaborative but you are also given a lot of autonomy - Excellent benefits including 401k matching and unlimited PTO

Cons

- Company is now nested within 2 huge tech firms, transition has been rocky - Corporate admin overhead can be a headache - Pipeline has been spotty during the transition (but is stabilizing) - Not nearly enough diversity (this may be gradually changing)

Amazing coworkers at Smashing... they really hire great people who are so smart and care deeply about the work we do and the world. I have learned so much. There are education and wellness stipends and unlimited PTO, which is also very nice.

Cons

The bureaucracy is intense — there is a lot that needs to flow back and forth between us, the parent company, and the grandparent company. It can be challenging to understand who has power.
