Pros

- There are many talented and kind people working at Smithbucklin. - You're going to learn a lot while working here due to the fast-pace nature of the organization.

Cons

- Overworked employees: Most employees have 2 or more clients, so it can often feel like you are balancing two full-time roles in attempting to keep up with the strenuous workloads. - Worklife balance: Worklife balance was not great. I often found myself on late night Zoom calls (on top of working a full day) to accommodate client schedules and even working over the weekends and holidays just to keep up with the workload. - Restrictive schedule: At the time I was working at Smithbucklin, it was mandated that employees come into the office three times a week even though the work could easily be done remotely. Due to the open layout, the office can be a nosy environment when there are multiple people around you also in meetings and taking phone calls. It can be quite a challenging place to focus. - Lastly, was provided very little guidance/support especially early on as I was onboarded during the busy season for one of my clients.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We encourage any employee who feels a struggle with work/life balance or lacks support they need to engage in an open discussion with their reviewing supervisor, HR business partner, or senior executive to identify solutions or changes. Our hybrid work model enables social interaction, energy, and team effectiveness three days a week while offering flexibility to work virtually two days per week and we encourage employees to leverage quiet rooms, empty offices, and private meeting spaces as needed.

Pros

I do love how diverse the company is as a whole. It truly is good experience but very fast paced and you have to self teach yourself 85% of your job

Cons

There’s no work life balance. They will literally work you to death but also not train you at the same time. They have no training programs or up to date training manuals to reference. I have had a member of corporate management call me on my personal phone saying I needed to get a projects done ASAP even though I am salary. I had to work several days straight with no sleep in order to finish it. This is not an exaggeration. I’ve gone to HR and members of management several times about my other managers and they claim they’re “outraged” but never do anything about it. As many have mentioned, the turnover within this company is incredible. Couldn’t imagine why.
