Toxic Culture

Pros

I've learned a lot of new skills personally and professionally during my time here.

Cons

The culture is extremely toxic and hypocritical. They expect absolute perfection from entry-level employees with no prior experience in the field. Many employees are overworked and underpaid. The company preaches employees having a voice and flexibility, but employees get denied every time (whether it's a supervisor change, feeling overwhelmed, etc.). They never praise you for your accomplishments and constantly criticize and micro-manage. People are leaving RAPIDLY. I would never recommend this company to a friend or colleague. Management, especially C-suite managers, needs SERIOUS change.

Thank you for your review about your experience at Smithbucklin. Smithbucklin’s formal performance and development check-in process includes a minimum of five touchpoints per year to review and discuss progress towards performance, professional development, and competency objectives. These touchpoints are intended for employees and reviewing supervisors to have open and honest discussions about their careers, including the path to promotion. We also encourage our employees to speak with their HR business partner, unit head, or a senior executive if they feel overworked or anything in regards to their promotion path.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We take all reviews seriously because it helps us evaluate and improve elements of our employee experience. As a current employee, you likely are aware that we are investing in an operations transformation and technology assessments and upgrades are part of this process. With other concerns, we encourage our employees to reach out to their reviewing supervisor, HR business partner, or senior executive to identify solutions. We love hearing you value our company's hybrid work schedule and competitive pay!
