Pros

I made many close friends and learned a lot from all the clients I worked on over the years. I also worked with some really talented people. They also have some great organizational processes in place. It's great experience to go out and get a much better job.

Cons

Overworked and underpaid. I worked on a huge list of clients, meaning I was in meetings all day and had to work all night to catch up. Wasn't able to delegate enough to other staff because they were already spread too thin. It was very typical to get late night or weekend emails from other staff, as everyone is spread so thin. If someone on our team left, we always ended up absorbing that role. By the time I left I had absorbed the responsibilities of multiple roles - roles that were formerly full-time positions. Bonuses are set so that you can never get 100%. And the whole diversity campaign is performative...there are no BIPOC people on the leadership team and only a few in exec positions.

Zero Trust Workplace

Pros

The recruitment process feels too-good-to-be-true. You will receive an offer very quickly when interviewing. Unfortunately it's because they need warm bodies to replace the people who quit yesterday.

Cons

The overall culture is one of zero trust. Employees are judged by presenteeism -people worked even while sick with covid, which created an unspoken expectation that everyone else should, too. This is because it's the type of workplace that makes salaried employees enter 15 minutes of PTO. Most new people are replacements to fill giant holes in departments - so you'll get instant resentment from your team members if you don't immediately catch on to their antiquated systems and processes to lighten their already backbreaking workloads.

Pros

Most colleagues are wonderful. You can learn a lot quickly.

Cons

Lack of vision for company or is just poorly communicated. Many employee surveys with little to no change. Toxic environment that rewards incompetence. HR has very little interest in solving problems. You will suffer from burn out. You will have more work than you can reasonably manage. Low morale around you will have a negative impact on you.
