Pros

The salaries are great for Montana especially when you consider quarterly bonuses, stock options, cell phone allowance, and the free lunches. SoFi also pays 100% of your entire family's medical. There are numerous opportunities to take on more responsibility and move up.

Cons

It takes quite a while to get up to speed when you first start because we use so many open source tools, many of which you are probably not already familiar with.

Pros

Friendly coworkers, great benefits, and a very cool, laid-back work environment make SoFi's Helena office an outstanding place to work. The onboarding process brings new employees up to speed quickly, and the senior engineering staff is always willing to answer questions. Furthermore, SoFi uses up-to-date technologies - you'll definitely learn something new.

Cons

The workplace can be a little bit too "fun" at times. Some of the engineers play guitar during lunch, some of them shoot each other with nerf guns. Combined with the open floorplan, that can be distracting. Instead of office chair, package contained bobcat.

SoFi is innovating the way finance is done - the executives have a clear vision of where they want to take the company, and continue to keep everyone in the company engaged and excited about it.

Cons

No clear metrics for performance evaluations and career progress - without a real process in place for managing them, I've seen some favoritism and non-objective decision making.
