Pros

Socio is a place where you can be yourself, make an impact, grow your skills and career, and work with incredible people. And while I hoped Socio would go public someday, I am thrilled to be a part of Cisco. In my last review over 2 years ago, the main con I described was regarding benefits. That certainly improved as the company grew, even before Cisco acquired Socio. And now, benefits are extremely generous and competitive!

Cons

Any acquisition is bound to have some bumps, and times where there is an inherent lack of clarity. However, the Cisco team has welcomed Socio very warmly and collaborated with us on a shared vision.

Pros

Everyone is kind, gracious, and supportive of one another. This is an environment where I feel my coworkers want me to succeed and won't hold it against me if I fail. We're all just people working toward a common goal, and it's easier because we're authentic and like to have fun together along the way. Management is very interested in nurturing professional growth and helping employees to advance in the company. No matter where you start, there's room for upward mobility. Being acquired by Cisco means phenomenal benefits, solid compensation, and a generous PTO policy. 100% WFH is amazing.

Cons

It's early in our time with Cisco, so there are a lot of unknowns, but nothing scary. Things have slowed down somewhat while we figure out Cisco's policies and processes. Our software development processes could use some refining and better structure, but they're working on it.

Pros

There is always something new to learn when working at Socio. The product is consistently being improved upon, and there's a never settle mentality that the entire company has embraced. We have a clear vision for where the company is going that is consistently shared and discussed among all employees from the top down. Best of all, it's a world-class team where you trust the individuals around you and will always push you to strive for more.

Cons

If you aren't used to working in a startup atmosphere, this isn't the job for you. There are a lot of moving pieces to keep track of and you have to be diligent about balancing your time to keep things moving.
