Pros

None. See my cons below.

Cons

Softchoice is filled with men who were clearly losers in their earlier years. They then band together hoping to give off masculine energy, only to give off toxic masculine energy. It’s disgusting. Softchoice also underpays you a ton. Find people on LinkedIn who recently left the company if you want the full scoop. It’ll definitely make you reevaluate your decision this abysmal place.

Pros

The determination and kindness of their team.

Cons

There are many cons. You could say I'm bias because I was let go without cause, but truthfully I thought of leaving many times before the decision was made. The management asks for your feedback but only takes new hires words with a grain of salt and favors those they've put in management decisions despite their condescending attitude and disregard for time of adaptation. Although they make continuous systematic improvements in their structure, and offer countless resource programs and ways for individuals to be a part of something bigger than themselves, the pay and title are insulting to the amount of knowledge and detail needed for the role, and I believe it is a deliberate move in order to underpay their valuable workers. The vacation days are less than industry minimum, despite years of complaints on this front - they've made no strides. I was personally attacked by the managers for matters regarding my personality and expected to showcase immediate changes despite doing all the work and additional learnings to be more of the non questioning soldier type they needed on their front lines. They say they grow their people first, but I went above and beyond; helping others at every opportunity, leading events, and meeting the demands of the customers and from the complete diversity of the role compared to my previous experience, I was actually quick study. The fact they just let me go without cause when I made a huge career risk to come there was a slap to the face, and shows that they have a specific persona that needs to be there... and if you're not it, you're out. If you are looking for slow development, low pay, and to be exhausted frequently with the work you do, with rewards not reaped for many years, SoftChoice is definitely the place for you.

Pros

Nice team. Just a bunch of people working hard. Good culture but no outside-of-work connection, which is fine.

Cons

Terrible pay, lots of bad politics and kind of a seniority system that makes it impossible to get anywhere within less than 5-10 years. There's this vibe that we all work on GPTW company, and it gets toxic to the point that because the relationship with your team could be a good one, you swallow it down and think you're too hard on a “great company”. Then things start to happen, and you start to see the truth and realize the system is toxic, and based on seniority, and everything you've done outside of the company will only have value if the correct people like you - I get politics play a role in the workplace, but this is toxic. You can also have to work with very racist people - the teams down in the US (the people making the real money are all about the BRO CULTURE ) but you won't see it because they play very nice. It will take you a couple of “episodes” to understand the whole dance.
