Pros

Senior Leadership - Leaders make well informed decisions and it is important to note that the Senior Leadership team is very stable. CEO has been at Softchoice since 2001. Company Values - People who work at Softchoice believe in the core values. Lots of Potential Opportunities to Grow and Move Around - Company is growing in Canada and the US so there's lots of positions to grow into.

Cons

Lots of turnover in the sales organization may impact some of the growth. There is an opportunity to improve Learning & Development programs for non-sales departments.

Pros

very young and energetic environment. Seem to have a lot of activities and perks for younger employees. They have a good 'onboarding' process and invest in training new recruits on Microsoft portfolio.

Cons

The Client Teams are extremely focused on selling and protecting the Microsoft business within their accounts and nothing else. This makes it very difficult for 'Specialists' within the company that are selling other vendor products/solutions (ie. IBM, etc.) to make any traction. So be careful in taking a role that focusing on anything other than Microsoft. Tough hill to climb.

Pros

Before I worked at Softchoice I actually checked out the GlassDoor reviews and was nervous about working here (even after I heard amazing things about the company). This is the weird thing about GlassDoor and other review sites...you'll here more negative than positive. So I'd like to share my experience so far now that I've been in role for 5 months. First off, you WILL excel at the job if you come here expecting to work for it. I've seen people in Sales Academy classes behind me that give up easily and just don't have the strength, positive energy, or work ethic to succeed at this job. You will be expected to go to mandatory training sessions, make 100 dials a day at the beginning, and consistently improve. This is to train you to excel once you are officially "deployed". When you pass the academy, you'll notice that all the calls and training in phase 2 prepares you very well for when you have team meetings or have only 1 hour to make as many calls as possible. Come in here with a good attitude and trust the plan they have set up for you. Remember your managers have their own metrics based on your success so they will do what it takes for you to excel. I can genuinely say I love my job here and I'm so happy that I chose Softchoice. No matter where you want to take your career, you can feel confident that you will learn many skills here: managing relationships, dealing with different departments internally, invoicing a customer, building relationships with vendors like Microsoft, sales techniques, how to win a deal, how to appeal to different people in an organization, how those organizations work and what their processes are, etc. You'll also gain a good understanding of actual IT while you're at it, of course. This is also an amazing industry to be in and Softchoice especially has a very strong position in the marketplace. Not only that, but from a career/hiring perspective, they are so well-recognized that people will actually try and poach you from the company. Obviously the office also has dogs, BBQs, and great incentive programs.

Cons

Not everyone will succeed in this position. It is hard work and there is a major learning curve associated with the job. Don't be turned off if you don't know much about tech. If you're a hard worker, positive, and willing to learn and ask a lot of questions, you will do great. I'm a huge believer that you won't make a name for yourself unless you put in the blood, sweat, and tears. Things that come easy aren't worth it. Put in the effort and time here and you will reap the benefits! I put 4/5 for work/life balance because it takes you time to adjust to the workload, so you do have to put in some extra hours at the beginning if you want to get better. This should level out once you are more comfortable in role :)!
