Pros

I cannot express in words how beneficial my experience at the Softchoice Sales Academy was to my career in IT sales. As a Corporate Account Manager, it is critical for me to provide unsurpassed value to my clients; therefore I need to not only be able to correctly identify my clients' pain points and needs, but have sufficient knowledge about information technology in order to recommend a solution and base this solution on the desired business outcome for the client. Softchoice Sales Academy's emphasis on solution selling, development of business acumen, and education on all things IT allowed me to develop the precise skills required for me to fulfill my role to the best of my abilities. The time I spent at the academy was truly the best job training I have ever received from an employer.

Cons

In regards to the onboarding process : nothing major to complain about. A few too many videos to watch if you do not learn that way.

Pros

I have been working for Softchoice for 5 months now, and it keeping getting better! I was offered the opportunity to work for Softchoice in Mid-March. This meant moving from a small town in Michigan, living in a hotel for 4 weeks for training in Toronto and then moving to Chicago. Big decision, right? Softchoice did an exceptional job of making the decision as simple as possible. For one, the benefits whether health or financial are great. But a huge reason was the culture. At Softchoice, the culture is something that other organizations should emulate. I’ve never been in a work environment where people generally care for one another. Where you aren’t nervous to ask a question in fear of looking ridiculous. Whether you’re the lowest on the totem pole or the manager at the office, everyone treats you with respect. Not to mention the fun events that we’re privileged to attend. I strongly suggest giving Softchoice a chance if you are looking for a career that lets you grow in an ever expanding industry. Spread the Orange!

Pros

I entered Softchoice’s onboarding program in May 2015 and quickly found it to be the most motivating and enjoyable training experience of my career. As a recent University graduate, my experience in the industry of technology was limited, but I never felt disadvantaged because of my coaches’ unique, from-the-ground-up approach to corporate education. The basics of datacentre technology and effective sales techniques were discussed concurrently throughout four weeks of in-class training, so I learned about technology for the first time through the eyes of a sales representative. There was a lot more to learn from experience once I was in-role, but I believe my sales-tailored education helped me hit the ground running and find early success. Now outside of the classroom, I continue to learn and make use of the onboarding resources available to me. We often describe stepping into technology sales for the first time as "drinking from the fire hose." There is a lot to learn and it takes time no matter how fast you are. That said, I've felt supported and secure thanks to continued weekly meetings, one-on-ones with my development coach, and a corporate culture that encourages me to always ask questions.

Cons

My experience with the onboarding program was wholly positive.
