Pros

Most of the people in the office were very cordial and pleasant to deal with on a daily basis Clients are generally not too demanding The tuition reimbursement was a nice perk

Cons

Terrible hours Management often seemed more worried about figuring out what to do tomorrow and next week instead of doing what needed to be done today No room for advancement No raises. Ever. Almost impossible to get vacation during certain parts of the year Micro-management, and not the helpful kind Quality assurance program is a joke Talent recognition of senior management of productive lower level employees is embarrasing

Dear former Valuation Specialist, Thank you for your feedback, and for your 5 years of service. We appreciate both. I am sorry this opportunity did not work out for you. I hope you find an opportunity that is a better fit for you. No company is perfect, and the leaders I work with recognize that we are not perfect either. They are working hard to improve our focus on the work that matters most (80/20) so that we can drive better output/results. They are also focused on recognition and communication at all levels of the organization. We believe these efforts will make an meaningful impact on our output and the work environment for our associates. Thank you again for the feedback. I wish you all the best in the future. Regards, Greg von der Linden

Dear Anonymous Thank you for the feedback. Since you mention our principles in your headline, I would like to share all of our principles, in my own words, so others can read and form their own opinion of them. Here they are: 80/20 - This means a couple of things. First and foremost, focus on what is important, or the Pareto Principle. By staying focused, we can accomplish more. I use this one daily. 80/20 is also a language of accountability. At Solera, the leader of a project is designated as the 80 and there can only be one 80 for a project. We also identify 20s to the project, to ensure a better outcome - we don't believe in one person trying to do it all. This common language allows us to clearly communicate and understand our roles. 30/30 - To me, this is about continuous improvement. Its about reducing waste and increasing productivity by 30%. Eliminating waste allows us to be more productive, and re-deploy capital in more accretive ways. This mindset, to me, is just good business. 90/10 - Is about accountability, and accepting 90% accountability for team based goals. But its also about teamwork and fostering an "I got your back" mentality. Ultimately 90/10 is about ensure mission success. I share these principles with everyone I interview. These candidates find them interesting, helpful and well articulated. Many comment that they will use them even if they don't get hired. These principles are the corner stone of what we call the Solera Way. They are what bind us together, and help us deliver results. We are proud of them and would be happy to discuss them further. Sr Software Engineer Thank you for your feedback. I would agree we have a great team of passionate associates. I would also agree that this is an very interesting and dynamic business - that is part of what attracted me to the company. I cannot comment on the technology decisions we are making. That is not appropriate for this forum. I would encourage you to exercise our "90/10" Principal and share your views with your manager, or a member of the Senior Management team.
