Pros

Work life balance is okay, but isn't what it used to be.

Cons

When I first began, the flexibility was fantastic, the learning opportunities were great, and it was a wonderful place to work. Unfortunately, ever since the new management took charge, things have really deteriorated. They rely on metrics and productivity monitoring that isn't genuine; it's just some fabricated nonsense that the managers have compiled to assess your productivity. They claim you need to spend 30% of your time on the phone, and while you do, their call logs and assessment reports tell a different story. I have one of the highest assessment rates with one of the lowest phone times, which indicates that their productivity monitoring is not accurate. Additionally, they have always reviewed monitored documentation and our phone calls, but lately, it has become a nightmare. If you make even a small mistake, you end up with a variance. Be cautious of the verbal warnings, as the boss tends to use them as an opportunity to bring up other minor complaints. As I mentioned when they first began operating in my area, my boss was fantastic, but now, I wouldn't recommend working at Somatus, at least not in my region. People being fired without any notice and many laid off all at once around Christmas. I often do my own scheduling of assessments. As let's be honest, this can be a one-man show. You don't need a PHA to schedule your assessments, you are if you have to have a PHA to schedule assessments for you. Somatus wants to talk about budgeting and finding better ways to save money. Well, one way you can save money is not having PHAs. Waste of company money. If a nurse cannot call and schedule their own appointments and do their own assessments, then theyre not much of a nurse.

Pros

Operation Management is understanding of work-life balance.

Cons

They have a great mission but it is fogged up by the constant need for change, They change policies and procedures regularly. While changes within a organization would be the norm, expect to have this done each month, sometimes each week. It becomes dressed up as a positive thing when in reality its just an overload of work, corrections, and negative outcomes. If you do not have clinical certifications, there is NO growth. Your title has no substance no matter what they "say". The company lives in the delusion that they are patient focused while in reality they are chasing the dollar. Layoffs. Metric expectations for the "little guys" are sales based with no financial gain for the employee. You are a glorified new generation telemarketer for mediocre pay. No team morale, management doesn't even know their employees a majority of the time.
