Bring in passionate people and burn them out

Pros

-Great mission -Mid level and front line people are generally enjoyable and once you show they can let down their walls, great peers to have around -People team does a good job of sending swag regularly -Learn a TON

Cons

-As others have stated, the leadership here is very removed and ignores feedback from employees. At a start up, they haven't earned the trust of the small company to be so detached yet, and it results in setting unattainable goals because they don't understand the blockers or trust lower leaders in their areas -Burn out is a huge theme. Everyone is exasperated and frustrated and regularly running at the same problems with well thought out solutions that they can't get approval for from leadership. This is often in the name of spending resources on revenue generating things without recognizing the barriers to efficiency that, if removed, would enable way more success. The saddest part of this is seeing passionate, enthusiastic people lose those characteristics. Even the most well-intentioned and talented leaders end up clearly jaded, frustrated, and depleted which shows in our retention of leadership -The company has values that they say they live, but how they define them raises suspicions. "Be bucket worthy" - meaning do everything on your plate and ask for help if you need it - great in theory but people are given no resources or support, and everyone is too spread thin to provide help is someone does feel brave enough to ask. "Transparency" - but only when it looks good. Departures are kept quiet and the CEO dances around answers when he hosts his "ask me anything" sessions in the name of said transparency.

Pros

Hi I’m a very positive person and can usually see the positive side of things. But I just can’t see the positive side of Sondermind which has known for months and months that its video platform is broken and has done absolutely nothing to fix it

Cons

This Sondermind video sessions often don’t work. At least 50% of the time. Multiple SONDERMIND therapists have been complaining about this to Sondermind since at least August 2021!! Sondermind just keeps saying they’re “working on it”!!! How long does it take to fix this. Sometimes the video session just cuts off completely right in the middle of the session. Or the video doesn’t work. It is out right FRAUD for the clients and for the therapists to claim you have a working video platform — but you don’t. Clearly Sondermind‘s in-house tech hasn’t been able to fix this for months. The company has multi millions of dollars so why don’t they hire outside consultants, Or find some other solution,and fix this??

We actively monitor provider and client experience on our video platform and are always looking at ways to improve our experience. In 2021, we rolled out multiple technical improvements to our video telehealth experience. Some of these improvements included functionality to change audio/video source, enhancements to video encoding, and introducing a tool to let users know when they are experiencing network issues impacting their video connection.
