      Pros

      They have a great lead in technology and are working to streamline the process of selling cars. I have been with the company for 5+ years and the pay has always been above the competition.

      Cons

      They often have a bit of a double standard about being a great place to work and shop, but only if you meet certain criteria. For example, if you are an hourly employee, and want to work overtime, you can-but they encourage you to stay within 40 hours because they do not want people being away from their families for 50-60 hours a week. However, the double standard comes in when they speak to retail employees that they expect them to be there 50-60 hours a week.

      There are better places to work than Sonic dealerships, especially BMW Nashville.

      Pros

      You can make money - if you live there and you’re drinking the “you’re an associate” koolade. I worked there 6 years and the bar was being continually raised. More work load , declining pay scales. Decent benefits.

      Cons

      When I first started there the staff& management had been there for years. Great reputations for sales and pretty good service dept. But things changed- Sonic is only concerned about their bottom line, they answer to shareholders bc they are publicly traded. Employee turnover skyrocketed, largely because of incredible pressure from managers who were concerned about their jobs and hitting bonuses. It became an awful work environment.
