-I feel as if the work I am doing is actually making a difference -Great benefits -The opportunity for growth and travel is always there -Great job stability -Work/life balance

Cons

-no Christmas party or summer picnics -not a lot of team building activities within each plant

Great Employer. Move to Hartsville!

Pros

Sonoco embraces diversity. They have several professional groups for veterans, women, the LGBT+ community, young professionals, and a company Toastmasters International group. The benefits are affordable. From what I have experienced, work life balance is obtainable, but this could vary from position to position. You will have opportunity to apply for positions in other departments/divisions. Hartsville's downtown area and community have lots of great places to eat and shop. The community atmosphere is very good for families. The CEO is amazing! He is an amazing leader and speaker. You can tell he really does care about the employees of the company!

Cons

If you are planning to commute into Hartsville, especially from Florence, be prepared. The routine of driving can begin to drag you down, especially if you have to drop off children in Florence. You may have to consider moving to Hartsville.

Our hometown of Hartsville is great place to live and work, but we do recognize that it's not for everyone. The surrounding local towns are also well established, but the drive can the deciding factor. A plant manager told me early in my career that if you want to be a plant manager at just know that corporate runs the plant. I saw that to be true over time.
