There was a lot of autonomy to do your own thing which was good.

Cons

The school was in a lot of financial trouble from the state, rising tuition costs, increased admissions but lack of retention. There was not a lot of room for upward mobility.

Met wonderful people at the state and national level.

Cons

Lower pay than other comparable Missouri universities, worse benefit packages in comparison as well. Top down decisions are made without knowledge of the facts. Tenured faculty are allowed to wreak havoc for students and co-workers without consequences. Has become a "quantity institution" (only concerned about $$$) instead of a "quality institution" (one that wants to provide the best environment academically for students, faculty, and staff)
