Pros
Growth, both personal and professional are possible at SPP; they are generally supportive of educational, certification and training. Pay is competitive for the local area, and there are a number of employee engagement possibilities- health/wellness programs, onsite support, etc.
Cons
The former leadership is what made SPP the best place to work in Central Arkansas. With leadership change, sincerity in the culture and core values of the company were lost; a lot of the same good things - community involvement, giving back, etc. - occur, but with the goal of being noticed in the news, not out of the sincere desire to help others from a position to do so. Transparency was lost with the closure of an entire business unit for reasons that were never honestly conveyed, in order to preserve the business image; employees and stakeholders were mislead by management.
