Pros

Loved the colleagues. Loved the project and the work per se. Loved almost everything. Full remote work.

Cons

When they hire you they promise you things. Then you will have the trial period of 6 months. you keep asking for feedback: none given. You ask if everything is ok. They say yes. You refuse other options because you like the company and the project... one day before your trial period ends, they invite you to a quick call, fire you and remove access to everything so you cannot even say goodbye to your teams!!! ONE DAY!!!! And remember, you have been asking and wanting updates and feedbacks... if they had been honest, everybody would win.

I want to thank you for taking time to write a review and share your experience. I am happy to hear you loved your colleagues – and I wholeheartedly agree with you. The people at Sovos are what makes it such a great place to work. I’m also happy to hear you appreciated the way we attack our workloads and empowered employees through our flexible work environment. I want to address your experience about feedback and your departure. We have high expectations of managers at Sovos and we have programs to clearly communicate those expectations and help managers achieve them. Every team member with direct reports is required to attend and fully participate in our Manager Boot Camp where we outline best practices of communication cadences, performance management, and more. While our strategy of Best Managers is extremely important to us, it’s always an area we can improve. We are very focused right now on leadership enablement and accountability to truly ensure our managers across the business are successfully communicating with all team members. This last year has been a time of dramatic transformation for Sovos. While we are very excited about where we are headed, change at the scale we have taken on requires some tough business decisions, including layoffs. These decisions are always extremely difficult and not made lightly. We do our best to support every employee who is transitioning out of the business during such a difficult time for them and their families. As you rightly point out, we work with some highly sensitive information. As such, we have very high information security standards and need to adhere to these policies and client data protection commitments, including limiting access to our internal systems after a departure. I hope you have been able to stay connected with your Sovos colleagues since departing, and if not, I encourage you to reach out to continue the positive connections you made here. Our Information Security teams are always focused on enhancing our security processes to ensure we maintain these high standards. I I wish you the best in your future endeavors and thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. - Eric Lefebvre, Chief Technology Officer

Pros

Global Training for Sales at the beginning

Cons

Lack of corporate culture, Silos between departments and adcquired companies The worse support service in the market Companies has bought several local entities to push business forward, but each one has its own culture, working methods, VPNs, Customized CRM, Data access and BI. Local subs are full of c-level garbage that never sold a screwdriver and try to teach sales along the process, besides keeping side jobs such as airbnbs lookalikes. Also the company advocates to the the a software compliance company but in fact is not much more than a telco operator just specialized in selling documents instead of minutes. Not a software company definitely. The support service is non existent, where a sales person needs to act both as a nanny and a firemen to customers. Always believe on taking the advantage of a customer concern as an opportunity, but this company is a complete joke.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m happy to hear our benefits are big wins with you, but I am sorry you view things as chaotic. As you know, we work in a dynamic environment, not only due to the company’s growth and mission to Solve Tax for Good, but because of the rapid digital transformation of tax and compliance around the world. It’s not easy, but our customers are counting on us to keep our promise to support them wherever they do business. The path we’ve chosen for ourselves is growth and development, and we hope to walk that path together. We are happy to have you here with us on this journey for the past 4 years and look forward to your continuing it with us. James Buckley, Managing Director, Europe
