Pros

Great product, great people throughout the company. The business is prepared to invest in getting remote teams together for training and development. Very approachable senior management team. Incredible customer base and user community. Marketing and, especially, events punches well above their weight for the size of Message Systems.

Cons

The company size means that resources are constrained at times and the presence outside of the US is less solid that it could be. As always, sales roles are occasionally high pressure, especially around Financial Quarter ends. Commission structure is not always in line with the effort to close deals, nor the size of the deals.

Pros

At Message Systems I work with a phenomenal group of people who are highly talented and ambitious. I love the feeling of being surrounded by highly intelligent, motivated people from whom I am constantly learning. Message Systems is a company in transition, and like all companies in that state there is a lot of change, but fortunately there is a lot of improvement that goes along with the change. Occasionally a new policy may be introduced that is less than ideal, but you always know that management's door is open and that things work out eventually. I've personally seen things turn around when employees take advantage of the open door policy as policies get reworked based on employee feedback. Message Systems is a place where those that show their value are recognized and rewarded, and where there is opportunity for growth.

Cons

Message Systems is a growth company, and as such is not a place for those who find change difficult. Onboarding, while improving, is not overly formalized, and as such this is a good company for self-starters more than those who are accustomed (and dependent) on extensive, formalized training. The open door policy also means that you can't expect to get asked on a regular basis whether something is working for you, you will need to speak up when you have concerns.
