Pros

Variety of goods and services. Awesome employees. Great hours, always closed by 9 PM as per TX law, and not open on Sunday's. Great vendors and for the most part our customers are the best.

Cons

Can be challenging to meet your financial goals as a salesperson based on amount of extraneous work, like transfers (which is a constant, chaotic mess). Some key people that are in HO Mgmt roles and have been with the company for a while have "God" like status and the egos to match, making getting information or trying to make decisions within the store challenging. The "open door policy" does not exist here. It is run like the military, never go around or over your supervisor for anything, even a suggestion. Because it is a liquor store there is the constant barrage of theft & college kids trying to get over on you.

Pros

Great assortment of products. Very laid back atmosphere (so laid back to the point of being a con). The atmosphere was fun to work in. It was good to at least have a paycheck while between real jobs.

Cons

I applied here with 8 years of management from a fortune 100 company that brings in close to a billion dollars in revenue every year and was offered a laughable position as a stocker (had to take the job because i needed a paycheck). I was promoted 3 times in my 6 months here but getting management to push through pay raises was like pulling teeth. One of my raises was 12 weeks late and was short of the amount that was agreed on between the district manager and myself. Pay rates are very low unless you are in the management boys club. Management is VERY hands off at all levels. And you can forget about any performance coaching. HQ employees are very rude and not open to ideas and feedback. If anyone makes you any kind of offer on positions or pay GET IT IN WRITING. Luckily i was able to get out of this job and start somewhere that appreciates hard work and talent.
