Pros

You only need to be breathing and have a pulse and they will hire you. If you like working with the mentally insane, you will love it here.

Cons

They hire crazy people, making what should be an extremely easy job difficult. I have encountered former drug dealers, current drug dealers, people drinking at work and smoking weed and God knows what else while working. This includes some of the management staff. This is only part of the story, I could write a book about this place, but, I am limited by time and space.

Sunday off.....employee discount. Good clientele

Schedule changes every week. Far too cliquish. " favorites" we're given promotions and preferential treatment ( not just at the store I worked at; I heard the same thing from employees at other locations). Nearly impossible to earn commission if you are a cashier and a percentage of what you do earn goes to upper management. Incentive items are chosen by what is the most profitable for the company. Cashiers are also the stores janitorial service-- cleaning bathrooms and mopping floors. In addition, cashiers are expected to solicit charitable donations with every transaction. Human resources department is a joke & practically non-existent. If you complain you can be sure they will find a way to let you go. Don't be fooled by the term "family owned" - this is CORPORATE.

Pros

Co-workers are great and most customers are too. The ability to learn about different wines & liquors is cool. Oh and you get a case discount on anything you buy.

Cons

Management is a joke. From personal experience, I know management reveals very personal information about employees to other employees. There's no advancement opportunities and the pay is crap. I could literally make more money an hour scooping dog poop than I made at Spec's.
