Pros
the only thing that comes to mind is pay (the same as everywhere else), revolving door so there will always be jobs available for everyone who is not licensed CDP (as the last 2 hires had a highschool diploma ONLY and they only had an 4 hour HIV training to get hired) as a cdpt counselor.
Cons
the lies of getting supervised hours for mental health license, the lies of micromanagement at its fullest when there are counselors that are more qualified than the regional director and program manager! the lies of not getting reimbursed for travelling to complete assessments of three prisons (370 miles round trip) for over 3 months! the treatment programs are scripted and not treatment oriented. and the biggest lies of them all is the lack of common sense and that is why the turn over rate within a year and a half has reach 10 people and counting, under one office. the lies of being able to transfer to another location is none. there is always a revolving door and lack of qualified counselors.
